4.0 General safety instructions

è

Do not leave the running machine, only in case of stand-still of machine.

è

Take attention to the instructions of manufacturer regarding working material and highest speed,

max feed, using of cooling materials and clamping device of workpiece.

è

Only for original ,,FLOTT“ spare parts we will take over the guarantee of a trouble-free factory.

è

The machine should be connected to the mains power supply as indicated on the machine information

plate.

è

Without supervision the machine should be unplugged.

è

The machine operator should wear tight - fitted clothes. Long sleeves should be rolled up, jewelry and

neckties should be removed prior to operation. Long hair should be tight up or covered.

è

Clamp up only one tool at a time, never clamp up tools in both spindle holders of the lathe at the same

time

è

Cover the free spindle holder, place the cap over the spindle holder (tool holder) which is not in use.

è

Use the locking button on the spindle flange only for changing tools and not for braking the spindle.

è

When carrying out turning between the centers, always ensure that the workpiece has centering holes

at both ends.

è

Set the tool rest as close as possible to the workpiece and parallel to the center line of the lathe.

Tighten up both of the tools rest clamps firmly.

è

Before switching on the motor, check that the tailstock, tailstock sleeve and tool rest are firmly clamped

and that the workpiece itself is also seated firmly.

è

Work can only be carried out safety with tools which have been carefully sharpened. Always hold and

guide the tool with both hands.

è

Do not exceed the permitted cutting speed. Use a low speed when working on workpieces which are

unbalanced or have a large diameter.

è

When the workpiece is turning, do not measure it and do not brake it by hand.

5.0 Delivery, transport, handling and storage
ATTENTION! Always check delivery for completeness and damage!

The carrier (forwarder or railway) is to be informed immediately in case of transport damages. (s. yellow leaflet)

6.0 Setting up the machine

The drive unit can be mounted on any fixed bench with a robustworking surface.

7.0 Installation

Please check whether type of current, voltage and fusing agree with the prescribed values. There must be a protective
earth terminal. Mains fusing 10 A.

8.0 Elecrical connections

The drive unit / lathe is supplied from our works ready for use. Check that the mains voltage is the same as the
required operating voltage stated on the machine plate. A thermofuse, short - circuit protection device and an
undervoltage circuit breaker prevent the motor being overloaded.

9.0 Fitting/ changing tools

Fix spindle for releasing or tightening for screwin nut, for installing or unmounting tools with thread M33 on the r.h.
spindle end (2) and for releasing tools from MK spindle.
Use the right - hand spindle adaptor for connecting tools with thread M 33 / tools with Morse taper no. 2
Use the left - hand spindle adaptor for connecting:  tools with left-hand thread M 16 / tools with 20 mm diameter

ATTENTION!

Do not press the spindle locking button while the motor is running. Do not mount up more than one tool

at a time. Cover the spindle holder which is not being used with the cap (3).
