4.2 Installation of chain support, jaw and pipe mounting fixture
• Select the measuring point according to the recommendations in section 4.1.
• For the installation of the transmitter see operating instruction FLUXUS.
• For the connection of the transducers and the power supply to the transmitter see operating instruction FLUXUS.
4.2.1 Pipe preparation
Cleaning the pipe
Good acoustic contact between the transducer and the pipe wall is necessary for the measurement. Therefore, the pipe
surface at the selected measuring point has to be even and clean.
• Clean the whole circumference of the pipe along the length of the WaveInjector.
• Remove any rust, loose paint or scale.
• When cleaning the pipe, make sure not to cause any unevenness on the pipe surface.
Marking the pipe
Before installation, the place is marked where the chain support, jaw or pipe mounting fixtures are mounted:
• For measurements in diagonal arrangement, see Fig. 4.4.
• For measurements in reflection arrangement, see Fig. 4.5.

Contact with grinding dust
This may result in injuries (e.g., breathing difficulties, skin reactions, eye irritations).
→ Wear the required personal protective equipment. Observe the applicable rules.
