HDL1 EXTERNAL TELEMETRY
Pin
Function
A
CTS (to data logger)
B
Chassis ground
C
RXD (to data logger)
D
TXD (from data logger)
E
RTS (from data logger)
F
Signal ground
G
Power to telemetry device
H
Power control
This port is automatically configured by the data logger to the appropriate settings.
In order to minimize power consumption the two outputs TXD and RTS may be
turned off 30 seconds after the last byte has been sent. When these outputs are off,
they will be at or near ground unless an external device forces them to a different
level. Software and hardware communicating with the data logger must be able to
deal with the possibility of a transient when the transmitters are turned on. The data
logger will not send the first byte until the drivers have been active for at least one full
character time.
SIGNALS:
RXD, TXD, CTS, RTS are all RS-232
Flow control may be enabled, depending on port configuration
DATA LOGGER POWER:
Power can be supplied from the data logger through this pin.
M20 Vdc, nom12 Vdc
Maximum 4A
POWER CONTROL:
Open collector transistor switch to ground
Maximum current 100 mA (internal 150 mA limiter)
Maximum voltage 20 V
Maximum internal series resistance 100 ohms
Controlled automatically by firmware when telemetry port set to
satellite.
PROGRAMMING SUPPORT:
TX(): (for satellite interfaces only). Will cause the data specified to
be read and sent to the buffer for transmission to the satellite.
Telem: The voltage on pin G with respect to ground
MATING CONNECTOR:
851-06JC12-8SN50
FTS Part Number: 520-128S
