CiTRANS R820 Edge Router Hardware Description

Collects and distribute single-card configurations, alarms, and

performance data.

Service access and switching functions

Provides a switching capacity of 26G.

Processes packets, for example, identifies, terminates, encapsulates, and

discards packets and performs unicast and multicast processing for

packets.

Implements different types of protection, such as 1:1 tunnel, LAG, PW

redundancy, LDP FRR, IP FRR, VPN FRR, MPLS TE FRR, and VRRP.

Supports OAM at four layers: link layer, tunnel layer, PW layer, and

Ethernet service layer.

Supports the hierarchical QoS function.

Time and clock synchronization functions

Provides the 25 MHz (single-ended TTL) system clock and the 8 kHz

frame timing clock required by each card.

Supports synchronous Ethernet interfaces.

Supports the interface for synchronizing external frequencies and

implements input and output of E1 HDB3 or E1 Hz clocks.

Support IEEE 1588v2.

Supports the external time interface TOD and can use this interface to

issue or receive the time.
