Function and application
The outlet pressure p2 is infinitely adjustable within the pressure regulation range
(
10 Technical data).

Requirements for product use
• Follow the general safety information of the corresponding chapter.
You will find special safety regulations directly before the instruction.
3.1 Intended use
The precision pressure regulator LRP has been designed to regulate compressed
air in the following string to the set outlet pressure p2. The LRP thereby smoothes
out pressure fluctuations.
The product may only be used as follows:
– in an industrial environment,
– within the limits of the product defined in the technical data
(
10 Technical data),
– in the original status, without unauthorised modifications,
– in excellent technical condition.
3.2 Technical prerequisites
Note
Improper handling can result in malfunctions. The following specifications must
always be observed.
• Compare the maximum values specified in these operating instructions with the
actual application (e.g. operating media, pressures, forces, torques, temperat-
ures, masses, flow rates).
• Comply with the regulations of the trade association, the German Technical
Control Board (TÜV) or relevant national regulations.
• Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use.
• Remove all transport packing, such as protective wax, foils (polyamide), caps
(polyethylene), cardboard boxes (except for the sealing elements of the pneu-
matic connections).
• Only use the product in original status, without any unauthorised modifications.
• Remove dirt particles in the supply lines by blowing out the tubing and hoses.
This protects the LRP against premature failure or greater wear.
3.3 Qualification of qualified personnel
Installation, mounting, commissioning, maintenance and de-commissioning may
only be performed by qualified personnel who are familiar with:
– the documentation for the product,
– the applicable regulations for operation of pneumatic systems as well as for
accident protection and occupational safety.
3.4 Service
• Consult your local Festo repair service if you have any technical problems.

Installation
Warning
Products to which compressed air has been applied can cause injury to people
or material damage.
• Before carrying out installation and maintenance work, switch off the com-
pressed air supply.
• Vent the system using the shut-off valves in the compressed air supply line.
Note
This product is designed to be used with compressed air only. The product is not
suitable for use with other media (fluids or gases).
Escaping exhaust air or a leakage can swirl up dust and create a potentially ex-
plosive dust atmosphere.
4.1 Mechanical
Consider the following points during installation:
• Place the LRP so that there is sufficient space for the following activities:
– setting the outlet pressure on the rotary knob,
– opening the filter flow control screw

and the cover

for maintenance
purposes (
7 Maintenance and care).

• Note the direction of flow from 1 to 2.
The digits on the product housing serve as orientation.
