11 Installation
Warning
The device may not be used to control safety-relevant equipment. Functional safety
cannot be assured!
Caution
The operating instructions must be read before installation and commissioning, and
carefully followed. Applicable safety regulations must be complied with.
Allow the module to adjust to room temperature before commissioning. In the event of
condensation, the device may not be switched on until it’s absolutely dry.
In order to prevent overheating of the device during operation,
– it must not be exposed to direct sunlight,
– the ventilation slots in the housing may not be covered as a result of installation,
– adequate air circulation must be ensured.
11.1 Mounting
Th
e device is screwed on to the conveyor belt’s rectangular aluminum profile. The mounting components are
included. The device may only be installed vertically, so that the stopper cylinder executes vertical motion. It
is important to ensure that surface of
the device’s aluminum body makes good contact with the profile.
The electrical connections are located on the back of the device. They have to be accessible after mounting.
The device is secured to the 40 mm aluminum
profile at mounting holes 1 and 2.
Two DIN 912 M5x20 mm screws are included
for this purpose.
The slot nuts must be inserted at the
corresponding points in the aluminum profile.
