3. Operate the pump by applying an alternating motion to the
operating lever. The press is equipped with two operating
levers equipped with pistons of different sizes. Use the
longer lever to move the plunger close to the object to be
pressed and then use the shorter lever, which acts on a
piston with a smaller diameter, for the actual work of
pressing.

4. Put the press' hydraulic circuit under pressure, controlling
the reading of the pressure gauge until it reaches the
desired strength.

Pressure gauge
The gauge has two measuring scales:
an internal scale in "METRIC TONS" or Tons in the International System of
Measurement;
an external scale in "U.S. TONS" or Tons in the Anglo-Saxon System of Measurement.
9.3 Removing air from the circuit
To remove air from the hydraulic circuit open the pressure release valve (as described below)
and manually pump several times using the full stroke of the lever. Then, re-tighten the
release valve.
