5.6 Using the IV Poles
Two IV poles are integrated into the (Figure 35). The IV poles
are designed to carry bags of intravenous solution. Do not exceed the
4.4 lb/2 kg load limit on each IV pole. Weight attached to the IV poles
must be included when calculating the total load on the .
RAISING AN IV POLE
Note:
The IV poles are not locked when in the lowered position.
1. Grasp the molded tip of an IV pole and extend the IV pole until
it locks in the raised position (Figure 35).
2. Hang intravenous fluid bags on the IV pole hooks. Each hook is
designed to hold a 1-liter/1-quart IV fluid bag.
3. Secure each IV fluid bag with a hook-and-loop strap (Figure 36).
LOWERING AN IV POLE
1. Remove IV fluid bags before lowering the IV poles.
2. Press the red button at the top of the IV pole (Figure 37) and
lower the IV pole.
