General Mantenance
The shredders are designed to perform consistently with a minimum amount
of maintenance. This section contains recommendations for external and
internal cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
External Cleanng
Clean the exterior of the shredder with a soft cloth. Moisten the cloth with a
mild solution of detergent (such as dish-washing liquid) and warm water. Use
detergent sparingly to avoid contact with electrical parts.
Do not use flammable synthetic oil, petroleum-based products, or aerosol
lubricants of any kind. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or aerosol
sprays to clean the exterior of the shredder.
Internal Cleanng
The shredder does not require periodic internal cleaning. However, when the
shredder is being serviced perform these maintenance tasks:
Remove any paper strips or pieces that may have collected around
the cutting assembly.
If lubricated parts are dusty, wipe away the dust with a soft cloth.
Use a small brush or vacuum to remove dust from the
non-lubricated surfaces such as the motor, cutting assembly,
housing, and wiring.
Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or aerosol sprays to clean the interior
of the shredder.
Inspecton
When the shredder is being serviced, visually inspect it for defects such as
loose screws, loose terminals and connectors, and any other problems you
notice.
Correct any defects and
test
the shredder before returning it to the customer.
