8. Replace damaged parts only by qualified personnel.
9. Do not operate charger if it has received asharp blow, been dropped or
otherwisedamaged in any way; take it to a qualifiedserviceman.
10. Do not disassemble charger or batterycartridge; take it to a qualified
servicemanwhen service or repair is required, incorrectreassembly may result in
a risk ofelectric shock or fire.
11. To reduce risk of electric shock, unplugcharger from outlet before attempting
anymaintenance or cleaning.
12. Remove battery from charger when not in use.
13. The battery charger is not intended foruse by young children or infirm
personswithout supervision.
14. Young children should be supervised toensure that they do not play with the
batterycharger.
15. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately.
Itmay result in a risk of overheating, possibleburns and even an explosion.
16. Never intend to charge a leaked or damaged battery.
17. Never intend to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
18. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinsethem out with clear water and seek
immediate medicalaid. It may result inloss of your eyesight.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR CHARGER &BATTERYPACK
1. Do not charge the battery whentemperature is BELOW 0°C (32°F)
orABOVE 40°C (104°F).
2. Do not attempt to use a step-up transformer,an engine generator or DC
powerreceptacle.
3. Do not allow anything to cover or clog thecharger vents.
4. Always cover the battery terminals withthe battery cover when the battery
cartridgeis not used.
5. Do not short circuit the battery cartridge:
(1) Keep the contact pieces clean. Do not touch the terminals with
anyconductive material.
(2) Avoid storing battery packstogether with other metal objectssuch as nails,
coins, etc. There may be short circuit risk.
(3) Do not expose battery cartridge towater or rain.A battery short can cause a
large currentflow, overheating, possible burns andeven a breakdown.
6. Do not store the tool and battery pack where the temperaturemay reach or
exceed 50°C (122°F).Avoid direct sunlight.
7. Do not incinerate or burn the battery cartridgeeven if it is severely
damaged or is completelyworn out. The battery cartridge canexplode in
fire.
8. Be careful not to drop, shake or strike battery.
9. Always keep the battery pack clean and dry.
10. Do not charge inside a box or container ofany kind. The battery must be placed
in awell ventilated area during charging.
