für Schäden (insbesondere nicht für Funktionsausfälle, Verletzungen, Infektionen und/
oder anderen Komplikationen oder andere unerwünschte Vorfälle), die durch eigen-
mächtige Produktänderungen, nicht vom Hersteller durchgeführte Reparaturen oder
durch unsachgemäße Handhabung, Pflege (Reinigung/Desinfektion) und/oder Auf

I. FOREWORD
These instructions for use are valid for LARYVOX
®
SOS safe-mask.
The instructions for use serve to inform the physician, nursing staff and patient/user
in order to ensure technically correct handling.
Please read the instructions for use
carefully before using the product for the first time!
II. INTENDED USE
LARYVOX
®
SOS safe-mask comprises LARYVOX
®
mask (a) and a one-way valve (b) ❶.
LARYVOX
®
SOS safe-mask enables mouth-to-tracheostoma ventilation in emergency
situations. The one-way valve conducts the exhalation flow/ secretions away from the
person providing aid.
III. WARNINGS
At change of patient, the mask must either be replaced, or reprocessed and sterilised in
a technically correct manner. Infection hazard!
IV. INSTRUCTIONS
1. Fit the one-way valve onto the connection cone of the LARYVOX
®
mask ❷.
2. Place the LARYVOX
®
SOS safe-mask directly on the tracheostoma or on the tra-
cheostomy tube ❸.
3. Grip the one-way valve and press the mask against the skin until complete sealing
is achieved ❹.
4. Blow air into the valve with your mouth. If rescue breathing is successful, the chest
will rise ❺.
5. Continue ventilation (12x per minute)
CAUTION
Heed the general first aid measures!
Immediately alert the emergency physician/ emergency medical service!
V. SERVICE LIFE
If the material has become discoloured or damaged, the tracheostoma mask must be
replaced.
VI. CLEANING, DISINFECTION AND STERILISATION
For reasons of hygiene, the LARYVOX
®
mask must be cleaned after each use. Rinse
the LARYVOX
®
mask thoroughly under lukewarm running water.
