steam stops and the pressure indicator has dropped (Fig. 12). On placing the cooker in the
sink tilt it so the cold water descends the sides of the cooker far from the lid handle. Once
pressure has been eliminated and the pressure indicator has dropped,
move to point 4 of
this section. Never submerge the pressure cooker in water
.
3. Eliminate pressure automatically.
To use the automatic option,
turn operating valve to steam expulsion position (Fig.7), and steam will
be automatically expelled. Once all steam has been totally expelled and
the pressure indicator has dropped, move to
point 4 of this section
.
4. Once the pressure has been released
and the pressure indica-
tor has dropped, move the opening button forwards (Fig. 4). Hold
the cooker with your left hand and slide the lid rightwards with your
right hand. Even though all the pressure has been released, never
open the cooker facing you, since there may be very hot steam in-
side. To avoid the risk of burns, let the condensed water drops fall
into the cooker from the lid.
5. Opening during cooking.
If you need to open the cooker while
cooking, you must depressurise first as described in the foregoing
sections. We recommend using the automatic method, because
this will help generate pressure much quick later when you continue
cooking. The lid will be hot so take care when opening and closing the
cooker. To reduce risk of burning, only touch the handles. Remember
you’re interrupting the cooking on opening the cooker, so when you want to continue cooking
you must adjust the cooking time according to the time the cooker has been without pressure.
6. Don’t force cooker opening.
It will only open when the pressure indicator has dropped and
no more steam is expelled; and only then can you move the safety closure to open position.
Care and cleaning
1. The Fagor pressure cooker
is manufactured
in thick calibre top quality stainless steel 18/10.
2. The cooker must be washed,
after each
use. The body can be placed in the dishwas-
her, but the lid must be washed using warm
water and washing up liquid. When washing
the cooker by hand don’t use metal sponges
or cleaners which scratch since they might
scratch the mirror finish on the outside.
3. To remove stubborn
stains or any decolou-
ration inside, try pouring the juice of half a le-
mon dissolved in 1 or 2 cups of water into the
cooker. Heat it with the lid on during 15 minu-
tes, remove from the hob/burner and let the
pressure drop naturally. Wash as usual.
4. Always dry the clean cooker
with a soft
clean cloth after washing so it retains the mirror
finish shine.
5. To increase the useful life of the sili-
cone seal
, wash the lid in warm water with
