ball;

• Tighten fixing bolt (2) using a tightening torque of 110 Nm.,

taking care to ensure that the bicycle rack is not loose and

that it is perfectly blocked on the geometric coupling;

• Connect the lights plug to the power socket in the car,

usually placed on the side of the tow hook;

• After this operation, check to make sure the entire lighting

system works perfectly.

• Fix the light electric cables to the frame, using the supplied

clamps to prevent them from hanging loosely.

PLACING THE BICYCLE ON THE BICYCLE RACK

ONCE IT HAS BEEN FITTED TO THE CAR

PHASE NO. 8

• Remove all accessories and movable parts (water bottle,

pump, etc) from the bicycle;

• It is important to fit the bicycle on the supports provided,

so that they are opposite to each other (the handlebars of

the first bicycle must be on the right, those of the second

must be on the left, the third on the right). Take care to make

sure that the pedals,handlebars and metal parts do not

touch parts of the vehicle;

• Place the first bike on the internal section and fix it to rack

frame (1) using the foam rubber protection (3) by means of

the two straps (10);

• Now fix the wheels using straps (25), as shown: two straps

in the front wheel and one in the rear wheel;

• Place the second bike on the central section and fix it using

the quick release support bar system (20). Fix the wheels

by means of straps (25) in the same manner

Important note !

Comply with the following rules for all bicycle racks.

Check systematically to ensure the bicycle rack is fixed perfectly

on the vehicle and that the bicycle wheels are blocked.

Check regularly to ensure that all the locking mechanisms are

fixed perfectly and are not damaged !

assembly, it is essential to read all the

instructions and to strictly comply with the

indications.

   as indicated above;

• Place the third bike on the outer section and fix it by means

of the quick release support bar system (29), then fix the

wheels by means of strap (25) : two in the front wheel and

one in the rear wheel.

• U

se safety belt (26) to secure the bike assembly

to the bicycle rack frame.

• After carrying out this operation, check to make

sure the vehicle, the bicycle rack and the bicycles are

all compact, and that they are unable to move.

• It may be necessary to use additional straps or fixing

systems, depending on the shape of your bikes.

• Metal parts of the bikes can be protected with foam

rubber or similar materials.

ONLY FOR “CROSS 3”:

 •With three bicycles, because of the greater weight

carried, for better safety, secure the bicycle rack to the

car hatch, as indicated in Fig. 8.

Insert hook (28) in the second safety belt (26), wraps it

around frame  (1), to include also the bicycle frames, if

possibile, and fix hook (28) in the upper part of the car

hatch.

Pull the belt moderately tight.

with care, in compliance with the safety standards as required

by Directive 79/488/CE.

• After travelling for about 10 – 15 km., check the assembly

to make sure it is fixed properly. Check the straps and the

various bolts to make sure they are well tightened, and

subsequently check regularly during the trip.

• Hooks and bolts will get worn with time. In this case, they

must be replaced immediately.

• Vehicle driving will be influenced by the effect of wind,

sudden braking, tight bends, high speed, rises and dips on

uneven roads. Therefore, reduce the speed, comply with

local speed limits and, in any case, never exceed 130 kph.

• The manufacturer shall not be liable for damage deriving

from high vehicle speed or improper driving.

• Before starting, each time and frequently during the journey,

check to make sure that the fixing mechanisms and bolts

are tightened properly, and that the assembly is in good

condition.

• The bicycle rack together with the bikes fitted on it must

not be more than 1.8 m wide.

• The bikes must have no exposed sharp edges that could

cause injuries to persons.

• Objects that are difficult to see must not project beyond the

vehicle outline.

• Dismantle the bicycle rack if it is not being used.

• Dismantle the bicycle rack when the vehicle is washed.

• This rack requires accurate assembly and strict observance

of the installation and use instructions. When driving your

vehicle, you are entirely responsible for your own safety and

that of others.

• Respect the laws applicable in the country of use.

• Make these instructions available to anyone else using your
