If it is impossible to reach the minimum speed of the water required for cooling the motor
(e.g. if the well filters are higher up than the motor or if the well has a big diameter):
→
Install a cooling tube (see figure 6-1).
→
Make sure the cooling tube goes right around the motor and the opening for letting
water into the pump.
This ensures forced cooling of the motor.

6 Electrical protections
6.1 Fuses and thermal cutouts
→
Install an external mains switch (1) so the power can
be disconnected from the system.
→
Install fuses (2) on each phase.
→
Install a motor protector (3) (see below).
→
Install a switch for emergency stopping if necessary
for the use envisaged.
→
Earth the motor (4) (each motor has an external
earth connection)
6.2 Protection against over voltages
→
Install a protection on the power line against over
voltages in compliance with the CEI EN 60099 standard
(protection against lightning 5).
