13.2 Maintenance on the hydraulic unit
→
Hydraulic cylinder
Regular safety-technical checks are necessary:
•
There is a risk of slipping and falling if hydraulic
luid leaks out!
•
Visually check the unit for leaks every time
before use.
•
In the event of any inadequacies, do not put the
product to use and do not carry out any repairs
on your own.

Hydraulic unit
The hydraulic unit is a closed system and thus no
maintenance is needed, Note the following:
•
The unit does not have an oil fill plug.
•
The oil fill level cannot be checked.
•
Do not open any screw on the unit for the
purpose of checking the oil or for filling.
•
Venting:
To vent the hydraulic unit, the unit must be
removed. To do this, remove the keyrings at points
A and B, and then pull out both bolts from the
holder, one after the other.
To completely vent the unit, clamp it in the vertical
position with the piston extended out and wait ten
minutes. Suitable to use as a clamping point is the
port of the hydraulic unit at Point A.
Be sure that the strike plate does not get clamped
because it may be bent. First push it to the side.
Proceed with venting as follows:
1. Move the piston rod completely out by pressing
the pedal multiple times, and activate the pedal
multiple times after the end of the stroke is
reached. This will cause the unit to vent out by
itself via an integrated venting valve.
2. Drive entire hydraulic system back.
3. Plan maintenance time.
Repeat the process several times, or until the unit
reacts immediately to the pedal movement and the
system is rigid. Then the unit is vented.
Warning: There is a danger of
injury from slipping and pinching!
•
Replacing the seals:
Due to aging of the seal material, the seals must
be replaced about every 6 years.

13.3 Fire protection – hydraulic system
Combustible hydraulic fluid is used. If leaks occur
from the unit and contact is made between the fluid
and an open flame or a hot surface, then the fluid
could ignite.
It must first be assured that fires can be put out
immediately with proper extinguishers.
