SIS Configuration
and Control
The XTP R HWP 201 can be configured and controlled using Extron Simple Instruction
Set (SIS) commands or the XTP System Configuration Software (see
XTP System
Configuration Software
on page 24). This section contains basic SIS communication
details and SIS commands and responses when connected directly to the XTP R HWP 201.
Topics in this section include:
•
Host Device Connection
•
SIS Overview
•
Command and Response Tables for SIS Commands
Host Device Connection
Use a connected computer running the Extron DataViewer utility to send and receive
SIS commands and responses. To connect directly to an XTP R HWP 201, connect the
computer to the XTP R HWP 201 through the front panel USB configuration port (see
figure 8
,
E
on page 10).
SIS Overview
Host-to-Device and Device-to-Host Communication
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command sequence. When the XTP R HWP 201 determines that
a command is valid, it executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All
responses from the switcher to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed
(CR/LF =
]
), which signals the end of the response character string. A string is one or
more characters.
Error Responses
When the XTP R HWP 201 receives an SIS command and determines that it is valid, it
performs the command and sends the corresponding response to the host device. If the
command is determined invalid or contains invalid parameters, the receiver returns an error
response to the host. The error response codes are:
E10
= Invalid command
E13
= Invalid parameter
E14
= Not valid for this configuration
E17
= Invalid command for signal type
E22
= Busy
