Product Configuration Software

The Extron Product Configuration Software provides an easy way to make ties and sets of
ties. Updates to this program can be downloaded from the

Extron website

NOTE:

PCS is required to upload and configure a System Map on the FOX3 Matrix.

The program communicates with the switcher via the following ports:

•

Rear panel LAN Ethernet port

— See

Ethernet (LAN) Port

on page 19 and

“Software Operation via Ethernet,” below.

•

Front Panel USB Configuration port

page 18.

Software Operation via Ethernet

When a matrix switcher is connected to an Ethernet WAN or LAN, up to 200 users can
be connected to operate it, locally or remotely, using PCS (see

Ethernet (LAN) Port

for

installation details).
Connection to the switcher via the Ethernet is password protected. There are two levels of
password protection:

•

Administrators

have full access to all FOX3 matrix switching capabilities and editing

functions.

•

Users

can only access the

Internal Web Pages

(see page 40).

If the same password is required for logging on as an

Admin

and

User

, all personnel log

on with administrator privileges. Fields and functions that exceed user privileges are not
available in PCS when the operator is logged on as a user.

NOTE:

The factory configured passwords for all accounts on this device have been set

to the device serial number. In the event of a complete system reset, the passwords
convert to the default, which is

extron

for the

Admin

and

User

(see

Roles and

Permissions Panel

on page 45 to change a password).
