II. Installation of the base

with support feet

WArNINg

y

The new ladder is supplied in the sales package with
a base with support feet that is removed. Prior to using
the ladder, it is necessary to install the base with the
support feet on to the ladder and to fasten it using the
supplied bolts. Prior to every use of the ladder, check
that the base with the support feet is installed on the
ladder and that the support feet on the sides are not
missing or damaged. For safety reasons, do not use
a ladder with a missing base or missing or damaged
support feet and arrange its repair at an authorised
service centre for the Extol® brand.

1.  Put the ladder down on the ground and into the

grooves on both ladder tubes insert the base with the
support feet so that the holes on the base are located
in alignment with the holes in the ladder tubes (fig. 2,
step 1).

2.   Then secure the base to each ladder tube using a bolt

so that the bolt head is on the side of the ladder
where the locks are on both sides of the rungs (fig. 2,
step 2).

3.   Firmly tighten both bolts using appropriate installati-

on tools.

III. Extending the

telescopic ladder

1.  Stand the ladder in the retracted state on a stable

firm and even surface and lean it against a wall.

2.  Remove the Velcro zip strap that is securing the lad-

der (fig. 3).

Fig. 3

3.  Make sure that the end parts of the ladder tubes are

located with the cut-out on the tab as shown in fig. 4.

4.  Visually inspect the ladder, and before every use,

check that the ladder is undamaged and safe. The list
of items that need to be inspected before use is provi-
ded in the text below. Do not use a damaged ladder.

5.  Put your foot on the base with the support feet so

that the ladder is not lifted off the ground while being
extended. The ladder will start to gradually extend out
(become longer) starting with the first rung from the
rung with the red locks (fig. 5a), i.e. third rung. Lift the
