6.1.2 Function – with temperature sensor
In addition to the factory-set functions mentioned above, the following functions
are available if the power unit is fitted with a temperature sensor (accessory).
Start-up function
Extra chimney draw is needed when you are lighting a fire in a cold fireplace or stove.
The power unit therefore goes into boost mode (max. draw) for a set period when the
ON/OFF switch on the control panel is activated. After this period, the control panel
automatically adjusts the draw to a lower level.
The boost period is set as standard at 7 min.
When the temperature registered by the sensor exceeds the start temperature (menu
22) an asterisk (*) is shown in the display panel. It is now possible to reduce the speed.
Automatic start
If you forget to switch on the chimney fan before lighting the fire, the fan will start
automatically when the chimney warms up. The factory setting for this function is 25ºC.
Refiring function
The control panel in the room shows when it is time to add new fuel. The display
shows the word “REFIRING” and a low audio signal (beep) sounds five times, and the
asterisk (*) flashes on and off.
When you wish to add new fuel, press the ON/OFF switch
before
doing so. This tells
the control panel to run maximum draw for 3 min.
Automatic stop
After the last refiring, the temperature in the chimney will gradually fall. The control unit
ensures that ventilation continues to run for 45 min. – to ensure that the fuel has been
completely combusted and that the last of the smoke has been extracted.
Warning of the risk of a chimney fire
The display on the control panel will flash on and off and an alarm tone will sound if the
temperature in the chimney becomes abnormally high.
Press one of the buttons on the control panel to switch off the audio signal.
Step 1
Fit the power unit to the chimney
• Remove the cover from the unit
• Make sure that it is pointing towards the desired position of the control panel in
the room. (drawing 3 – see drawings 8 and 9 for optimum transmission
conditions)
• Fit the unit no more than 1 metre from the chimney fan (drawing 5), so that the
connection cables can reach. Make sure that the screwed connections are
facing downwards.
• Connect the chimney fan to terminals 8, 9 and 10 (drawing 4). Power must not
be connected to the unit at this time.
