Customizing the X-Keys Controller
It is possible to change the default keypad shortcuts of the X-keys controller. If you are using Linux or
Chrome OS, we would recommend following the entire procedure below, to avoid potential technical
issues.
Procedure
1.
Launch MacroWorks (MW3.1) by pressing the programming button on the top edge of the X-keys
controller, or by selecting the MacroWorks icon in the taskbar menu.
The first time you launch MacroWorks, you will be asked to select between Software and Hardware
mode.
2.
Choose Hardware mode to store your configuration on the X-keys controller.
The main window opens in layout view with an image of your X-keys. Any keys that are already
programmed will be indicated by a blue check mark.
3.
To reconfigure the X-keys controller, repeat the following steps for each key:
a.
In the Layout tab, double-click the key you want to configure. You can also select the key in
question on your X-keys controller.
b.
The Macro programming window opens.
c.
Switch to the Keystrokes tab. In this tab keystrokes are captured while you type them.
d.
Hold down the
ALT
keyboard button.
<LAlt>↓
will appear as press macro event.
e.
Click
Pause
to pause the macro recording.
f.
Open the Function tab.
g.
Click Show Functions.
h.
Double-click Delay.
i.
Update the delay value to 50 ms.
j.
Open the Keystrokes tab again.
The selected function will appear on a separate line as a press macro event.
k.
Press and release the desired keyboard buttons and release the
ALT
keyboard button.
The pressed and released keyboard buttons will appear on an new line a as press macro event.
