Advanced Video Settings
GOP Size:
This parameter allows the user to set the GOP (Group of Pictures) size of the
compressed stream. The range is from 15 to 60.
Deblocking:
This parameter allows the user to set a Deblocking level to the stream. Possible values
are Off, Low, Medium and High. A deblocking filter is a filter applied to blocks of video. This can
improve visual quality and prediction performance by smoothing sharp edges that can form between
macro blocks when block coding techniques are used. The filter aims to improve the appearance of
decoded pictures.
Entropy Coding:
This parameter allows the user to set the Entropy coding. CABAC (Context-based
Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding) or CAVLC (Context-Adaptive Variable-Length Coding). CABAC is
a more efficient choice and should be used if the H.264 decoder can support it. Entropy coding
resizes the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) coefficients according to the number of times they
appear in the bit stream. The most frequently repeated coefficients are expressed as small as
possible, decreasing the total number of bits needed to represent a single frame.
IDR Pictures:
This parameter allows the user to enable / disable insertion of IDR (Instantaneous
Decoder Refresh) frames. An IDR frame is a special type of I-frame in H.264. An IDR frame specifies
that no frame after the IDR frame can reference any frame before it. This makes seeking the H.264
frames easier and more responsive for the decoder.
Latency Mode:
This parameter allows the user to set the latency mode. Possible values are Min,
Low and Normal.
MBAFF (Macro Block-Adaptive Frame-Field) Mode:
This parameter allows the user to enable /
disable the MBAFF mode.

VANC Filter
The VANC Filter controls are used in combination with the VANC PID controls. Here the user can set
what DID and SDID values will be blocked to the VANC SMPTE 2038 PID.
VANC DID 1-20:
These parameters will block the corresponding DID from the VANC SMPTE 2038
VANC PID. DID values are a hex string and need to be entered in 0xXX format.
VANC SDID1-20:
These parameter will block the corresponding SDID from the VANC SMPTE 2038
PID. DID values are a hex string and need to be entered in the 0xXX format.
