INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
12.1 Head Compartment
and Marine Toilet
The head compartment is equipped with a fresh
water sink and faucet that converts to a shower
by pulling the faucet out of the base. The shower
head is equipped with a valve that allows the
shower water to be turned on and off without
affecting the temperature to conserve water
while showering. The shower water drains to the
sump system where it is pumped overboard. A
float switch near the sump pump automatically
activates and controls the pump while showering.
Ventilation is provided by an exhaust blower.
There is also a 12-volt overhead light and 120 volt
GFI duplex outlet. The light and exhaust blower
are activated by switches on the companionway
bulkhead.
There are storage cabinets above and below the
vanity. The cabinet doors above the vanity sink
are secured with push to release latches that are
flush with doors when latched. Refer to Cabinet
Door and Drawer Latches in the Cabin and Galley
section of this chapter for more information on
the latches. The switch that controls the toilet is
in the vanity below the sink and the switches that
control the overboard macerator pump are in a
compartment near the toilet.
Marine Head System
Your boat is equipped with an electric marine toilet
(head) and holding tank as standard equipment.
A momentary switch in the vanity below the sink
controls the filling and flushing of the toilet. The
flush water is supplied by the freshwater system.
Before using, make sure the freshwater system
is activated and press the flush button briefly to
wet the inside of the bowl. After use, activate
pump to discharge the waste to the holding tank
and empty the bowl.
Please refer to the toilet manufacturer owner’s
manual for more information on the operation and
maintenance of the marine head.
Holding Tank and Overboard Discharge Pump
The holding tank is located in the bilge below the
aft berth. A gauge near the flush button moni-

tors the fluid level in the tank. Do not flush the
toilet when the gauge reads full. When the gauge
needle reads in the red zone, the tank must either
be pumped out by an approved waste dump-
ing station through the waste deck fitting or be
pumped overboard with the macerator discharge
pump, when legal to do so.
