Purchase items and the price of the items will be subtracted from the LCD balance similar to any
other vend payment type. End transaction by pressing the coin return button or the end
transaction button. A message will appear confirming the transaction ending. If the machine is
idle with no user activity for more than 50 seconds during a credit card vend, then the
transaction will automatically end.
If the LCD balance becomes less than the price of either an ice vend or a water vend, then the
credit card transaction will automatically end. Upon end of transaction, the machine immediately
sends the actual transaction amount to the USA Technologies and USA Technologies submits
the transaction to the cardholder’s bank as a capture transaction. Within 24 hours, the reserve
amount will be released and the actual amount will be charged to the user’s card. If the machine
cannot immediately contact the USA Technologies across the network (which would be very
unusual since the authorization required a connection and was obviously just accomplished
successfully), then the machine holds the transaction data and will re-attempt to send the data
on its normal schedule. If USA Technologies holds an open authorization/ reserve transaction
for more than 24 hours, and no matching capture transaction is received from the machine, then
it will automatically release the entire reserve from the user’s card. Within 24-48 hours the
transaction will appear on the cardholder’s statement under a title specified by your USA
Technologies account.
Note: Everest recommends that the title used for the purposes of the card holder’s statement
should have the words “ice vending” in the title. This will allow users to identify the source of
the charge quickly and will reduce chargebacks on the operator’s credit card processor
account.
