HOW TO SOLVE PROBLEMS
POWERLINE UPS units have been designed for long-term, automatic operation and
will alarm the user about problems that may appear during operation. Usually, the
alarms displayed on the LCD panel do not indicate changes in input voltage
parameters. Most frequently, these are preventive alarms aiming to alert the user to
the possible causes of faulty operation of the UPS unit. Active alarms are
accompanied by sound signals. Table 6 presents the most typical statuses and
alarms, their expected causes and proposed troubleshooting activities.
Table 6. Typical statuses and alarms, their causes and recommended activities.
Problems
Possible cause
Solution
Error code "08",
continuous sound signal
The UPS unit is in error
status due to exceeded
permissible temperature
Make sure the UPS unit is not overloaded, the fans are not blocked and the
ambient temperature is not to high. Wait about 10 minutes to let the UPS unit
cool down before switching it on again. If the problem persists, contact the
technical support.
Error code "09",
continuous sound signal
Short circuit in the UPS unit's
output
Disconnect all receivers. Switch the UPS unit off. Before reconnecting the
receivers make sure they are not faulty and that there are no internal errors in
the UPS unit. If there are problems with the UPS unit, contact the technical
support.
Error code "05" or "06",
continuous sound signal
The UPS unit is in error
status due to internal error
Contact the technical support
UPS unit starts up in
BATTERY mode (mode
"03")
Input voltage or frequency
exceeds permissible limits
Check power source
Error code "07",
continuous sound signal
Receiver is overloaded or
faulty
Check the receivers and disconnect non-critical ones. Recalculate the load
power and reduce the number of receivers connected to the UPS unit. Make
sure none of the receivers is faulty.
Warning - code "23",
sound signal every
second
Batteries or charger is faulty
Contact the technical support
Error code "11",
continuous sound signal
Low level of batteries or
batteries are disconnected
Check batteries level
UPS unit will not start
despite correct
parameters of the mains
Service bypass switch is
faulty
Contact the technical support
Reduced back-up time
Batteries have not been fully
charged yet
Leave the UPS unit connected to the mains for at least 10 hours, until the
batteries are fully charged
UPS unit is overloaded
Check the receivers and disconnect non-critical ones
Battery capacity reduced due
to long-term use
Replace the batteries
UPS unit will not start
when the ON button is
pressed
The "ON" button is pressed
and released too quickly
Keep the "ON" button pressed longer than 1 second
Batteries are disconnected
from the UPS unit or
batteries voltage is too low
Make sure the batteries are connected properly or recharge them
UPS unit fault
Contact the technical support
When contacting the technical support, please have the basic information at hand:
- UPS unit model and serial number
- when the problem occurred
- complete description of the problem, including error codes, sound signals, the status of mains and loads. If your UPS unit was designed for long back-up times, it may be
necessary to have information on the applied batteries.
