This section describes how to access the ReliaGATE 10-14 Linux Operating System by logging into the
Administration Console.
To login to the Administration Console, use one of the following methods:

Direct login via Console Port
l
Remote login via Secure Shell (SSH)
11.1 Default credentials
By default the system provides two users:
l
guest
l
root
The guest password is
Eurotech
and it provides non root privileges.
The root password is set by default to the serial number of the device
11.2 Login Messages
Messages can be displayed before and after attempts to access the ReliaGATE 10-14, either via the serial
console or using ssh. The default messages discourage unauthorized access but can be changed to suite
other scenarios.
The text displayed before a login on the serial console is contained in
/etc/issue
The text displayed before any access via ssh (including scp) is contained in
/etc/issue.net
The text displayed after a successful login via ssh or the serial console is contained in
/etc/motd
11.3 How to login via the Serial Console
The serial console of the ReliaGATE 10-14 is available via a 3.3 Volt serial connection. Because this is not
compatible with standard RS-232 voltage levels, you must use an RS-232 to 3.3 Volt converter, or a USB
to 3.3 Volt serial adapter.
To login using the Serial Console, complete the following steps:
1. Setup a Development PC (for example: a laptop) with a free USB port
2. Make sure that both the Development PC and the ReliaGATE 10-14 are turned OFF
3. Connect the 3.3 Volt serial-to-USB Cable between the USB port (of the Development PC) and the
Serial Console (of the ReliaGATE 10-14)
4. Turn ON both the Development PC and the ReliaGATE 10-14
5. Use the Development PC to login the Administration Console:
a. Run a terminal emulator such as Tera Term (Windows) or Minicom (Linux)
b. Configure the serial port connection with these parameters: 115200, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no
parity, no flow control
c. Enter the default case-sensitive credentials when the prompt appears (see "Default
credentials" above ).
You should see the following output:
