Video Over Hard Drive (VOHD) Mode
In VOHD mode, the Player VIP plays files from the root directory of a local disk drive connected
to the USB port or from a CF card. The files can be pre-recorded or copied from a networked
computer running VideoCenter. VideoCenter can manage the play schedule also. The application
is capable of discovering multiple Player VIPs on the same LAN. The Player VIPs can be
configured as stand-alone units or as a multicast streaming group. See Section 4.4.3 for an
explanation of discovery groups.
The following diagram illustrates the network topology for VOHD mode.
Operation in VOHD mode requires configuration of system settings, in addition to the Player VIP
setup described in the previous sections. If VideoCenter is used, you select the files to copy and
set the play schedule using a graphical user interface. See the VideoCenter User’s Manual for
details on using this application.
