Soaking
Following the chemical enhanced backwash, the module(s) is then isolated with all the valves being closed off
to let the membranes soak for approx. 5

–

10 mins.

CEB is then followed by a typical backwash procedure before resuming normal operation.

The recommended chemicals and their dosage for the CEB are:

More acid cleaning should be conducted for feed waters which contain more inorganic foulants while more
caustic cleaning should be conducted for feed waters which contain more organic and biological foulants.
