THE CHAIN

This machine is equipped with an automatic chain brake in order to limit the consequences

which may be caused during a return stroke. This brake may also be operated by hand. The

brake lever is located in front of the front handle.

To release the brake, pull the brake lever toward the front handle until it clicks.

Check every day that the brake is not jammed and that the brake lever is working properly and

safely.

To check the functioning of the chain brake, proceed as follows:

• Switch off the engine.

• Hold the tool horizontally and take your hand off the front handle. Touch the front area

of the chain onto the timber in order to check that the chain brake actuates.

If the brake does not actuate, contact Customer Service.

If the engine continues to run at high speed when the brake is applied, there is a risk of damage

to the tool due to the overheated coupling parts. If the brake is actuated during cutting, release

the throttle lever immediately to stop the engine.
