b) Basis Station
—
Open the battery compartment on the basis station's rear by pushing the battery
compartment lid downwards.
—
Then insert two AA/mignon batteries into the battery compartment (12) of the
basis station with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
—
Close the battery compartment again.
—
After inserting the batteries, the basis station will scan for the outdoor sensor.
The sensor search takes about 5 minutes. Do not move the basis station during
this time and do not press any buttons.
(
As already described in chapter 9. a), the outdoor sensor will transmit its
measured value to the basis station every 60 to 64 seconds.
It may therefore take a little while until the outdoor temperature is displayed.
It is important that the transmission channel in the outdoor sensor is set to
"1". remove the batteries from the outdoor sensor before switching the
transmission channel!
After these 5 minutes, the basis station attempts initial reception for the DCF
signal; the icon "
" (9) flashes in the lower right of the display (if a DCF signal is
recognised).
The DCF reception attempt may take several minutes. Do not move the basis
station during this time and do not press any buttons.
Observe chapter 10 on DCF reception.
—
The basis station can be suspended by a nail, hook or screw using the wall mounting
hole (10).
The included standing base can be used to set up the basis station on a level,
stable surface. Place the basis station in the groove deposit of the standing base.
A magnet integrated in the standing base then fastens the basis station.
This way, the basis station can be easily removed from the standing base.
(
Also observe the chapter "14. Transmission Range" for setting up the outdoor
sensor and basis station.
