idea to establish and record your usual temperature regularly when not ill.

Whilst Individuals may vary, normal temperature is considered to be 37ºC. However, body temperature can vary from

36ºC up to the normal level.

A mild rise in temperature would be to about 37.8ºC and you should consult your doctor if your temperature remains

at this for more than 24 hours or if your temperature rises to 38.6ºC.

Respiratory air may affect the accuracy of measurement. You are recommended to close the mouth for about 1

minute to let temperature in the mouth become steady.

This thermometer can measure the temperature between 32°C and 44°C. Accuracy is ± 0.1ºC between 35.5°C –

42°C and ± 0.2°C for the remainder of the range.

Directions

The unit is switched on and off with the button alongside the display window. The start-up screen will appear on the

LCD display and a beep will be heard. If it has been used previously, the last reading will be shown on the screen for

2 seconds.

If “Lo ºC / Lo ºF” appears, it means the room temperature is below 32°C or 89.6°F. “Hi ºC / Hi ºF” will be displayed if

the room temperature is greater than 42.9°C or 109.2°F. If the room temperature is greater than 32°C, it will be

displayed rather than Lo °C. If the thermometer displays over 35°C dip the thermometer tip in cold water for

approximately 5 seconds prior to measuring your temperature.

The °C/°F symbol will flash when the thermometer is ready for use.

Place the tip under the tongue and close the mouth. Wait for approximately 40 to 60 seconds or until you hear

bleeping tones and the “°C” / ”°F” symbol to stop flashing. After hearing the bleeping tones, wait 4 more seconds.

The unit may now be removed and the displayed temperature recorded.

The unit will auto power off after around 10 minutes of not being used.

To switch between °C and °F

Make sure the thermometer is turned off. Hold down the ON/OFF button until it shows C – F on the LCD screen and

then, release it. The current unit will flash, to change it, press the button and choose the desired unit. Wait

approximately 5 seconds until the thermometer will automatically turn off.

Replacing the batteries

The low battery symbol appears when the battery requires replacing.

Turn the thermometer face down and remove the battery cover using a coin on the counter-clockwise direction then,

remove the battery. The replacement battery should be of the same type CR2032. Make sure “positive” side is facing

upwards. Turn the cover clockwise with a coin to close it.

Always take care when removing the battery cover as damage may occur if the unit is dropped or knocked against

any hard surface.

Remove batteries if the unit is not being used for a long period of time to prevent them from leaking.

Do not throw away used battery in household waste. Dispose of the battery at your local waste disposal centre in the

appropriate battery dispose site.
