2  AFO485 modem with asynchronous interface 

 
This section describes AFO485-10 , –20 , -30 and –40 models. 
 

 

2.1. Function 

 
These products allow point to point transmission via multimode or single 
mode fibre optics. They have RS232, RS485 and RS422 asynchronous 
interfaces. 
The unit permits half-duplex transmission. 
The following protocols may be used : 
PROFIBUS DP / MODBUS / UNITELWAY / SYSMACWAY, and the 
majority of other asynchronous protocols.
