3.1.2 Illustrations
Installations may vary depending on the model number and the position in which the unit is
installed. The illustrations in this document may differ slightly from your installation. Use
the illustrations only as general guidelines.
3.1.3 Inspection of parts
Inspect all parts and remove any debris and report any loose or damaged parts to ESA
immediately.
3.1.4 Position of the Heat Exchanger(s) in the building
The heat exchanger(s) can be installed on either side of your building, however the ideal
place to install them depends on several parameters. It’s therefore strongly suggested to
consult with an ESA certified representative to determine the optimal position for your type
and size of building. Gather and transmit the following details when speaking with your ESA
certified representative;
•
Your minimum and stage one ventilation requirements
•
Know the position of your fresh air inlets and exhaust fans
•
Have a look at the available wall space on the inlet and exhaust sides of your barn
•
Width, length of the barn and the ceiling height at the side walls
•
Know the position of your feed lines, water lines, gas lines, heating system and stir
fans etc.
•
Outside prevailing winds
•
Curtained brooding or full house brooding
3.1.5 Preparation of the hole(s) in the wall
NOTE:
Refer to the ESA-1000 specification document for all dimensions and clearances
required for feed lines, drinker lines and heating systems etc.
1. The hole(s) should be 21 ¼ inches wide by 25 ¼ inches high. Allow a minimum
clearance of 1 ½ inches above the hole before the ceiling and 25 inches below the
hole (see IMAGE 1).
