Configuring Quadro with ISDN
1
Introduction
This document helps to configure and use the Quadro via ISDN interface and describes the
basic configuration steps to setup the ISDN on the Quadro.
2
Functional Description
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) consists of digital telephony and data-transport
services offered by regional telephone carriers. ISDN involves the digitization of the telephone
network, which allows voice, data, text, graphics, music, video, and other source material to be
transmitted over existing telephone wires. The ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) service offers
two B channels (voice transfer) and one D channel (signaling data transfer). The BRI B-channel
service operates at 64 kbps and is meant to carry user data; the BRI D-channel service
operates at 16 kbps and is meant to carry control and signaling information, although it may
also support user data transmission under certain circumstances.
This document describes a quick installation and basic configuration for ISDN.
