8. Disconnect the FFC from the connector on the Printhead Control Board at the rear
of the Carriage Unit.

9. While pushing the driven pulley holder to the left, loosen the tension of the timing
belt and remove it from the pinion gear of the CR motor.

10. Push the driven pulley downward to remove it from the driven pulley holder.

11. Remove the timing belt from the driven pulley.
C A U T I O N
When the Carriage Unit has been completely removed and is being
re-installed, make sure that you first connect the FFC to the
connector on the Printhead Control Board at the Rear of the
Carriage Unit. Then install the Guide Shaft to the Carriage Unit
and secure it to the Printer Mechanism. If you try to connect the
FFC after the CR and the CR Shaft have been installed, it will not
be possible to insert it correctly; and if it is inserted at an angle,
damage to the Head Shaft may occur.

When installing the FFC, pass it over the hook before connecting
it.
