CONTAINER HANDLING GUIDELINES
Storage
It is recommended that the RKN e1 container be stored on flat ground. The storage temperature should
be between -40°C (-40°F) and +50°C (+122°F).
Important!
No container, cargo or other must be stored on top of a RKN e1.
Battery Switch and Long-time Storage
The battery switch disconnects the batteries from the container system i.e. the container cannot run
on battery power when the switch is off.
Important!
The refrigeration system can still run and the batteries can still be charged when the container is
conneted to the mains.
Long-time storage is defined as more than seven days. When the container is to be stored for
more than seven days, the battery switch should be switched off.
1) Open the cover of the charging unit.
2) Remove the thumbscrews and pull out the adapter case (Figure 6).
3) Turn the battery switch to "STOP". (Figure 7.
When switching on main switch; turn switch to "START" (the switch then automatically turns
to 1 (one).
4) Re-install the adapter case.
During long-time storage the batteries must be fully charged every 30 days due to self-discharge
in the batteries. This can be done without turning the battery switch on ("START"). Refer to
section "Charging".
Important!
After long-time storage when the battery switch is switched on again the charging cable must be
connected to the mains for five seconds for the system to start properly.
