11D. The device waits for the number of

temperature points selected by the user to be

measured. The user must wait a minimum of 300

milliseconds between consecutive temperature

measurements.

12D. Once the three temperature measurements

have been obtained, the E-1000 will emit a

second beep.

13D. If “Auto save” is active, the I-V curve will be

saved automatically and a double beep will be

emitted. If this option is not activated, the user

must save the I-V curve manually.

14D. The device is ready for the next

measurement. However, it will not start until a

disconnection and a connection are detected, or

until the measurement is manually started.

5.3.4 Continuous measurement

This function is intended to leave the E-1000 fixed in

the same circuit under test for a set period, measuring

the I-V curve periodically and automatically. In this

case the “Auto Save” function must be used so

that the results of each measurement are saved in

an automatic way. In this mode, the “Bar code” or

“E-Temp” functions may not be used.

To configure this option:

1. Enter the settings menu.

2. Press the button “Continuous measurement.”

3. A sub-menu will appear to configure the

measurement period.

4. Select the measurement period, which should

be between 15 and 600 seconds.

5. Exit the sub-menu.

6. When exiting the sub-menu, the “Auto save”

function will be activated automatically. This

function can also be disabled.

7. Press the “Exit” button to return to the main

screen.

8. At the top of the main screen, a message will

appear indicating that continuous measurement

is active and the period is selected.

9. Connect to the circuit under test.

10. Press the “Measure I-V Curve” button to start

continuous measurement.

11. A new red button will appear on the main

screen with the name “Stop Measurement”.

To stop the continuous measurement process,

the button should be pressed twice while the

“Measure I-V Curve” button is blue.

12. The E-1000 will execute the measurement of

the I-V curve and will save it automatically if the

“Auto save” option has been previously chosen.

IMPORTANT:

In continuous measurement mode

the measured curves will not be saved if the auto-

save option is not selected.

After 15 seconds into the continuous measurement

process, the device screen will turn off to save

battery life. To periodically check on the process,

the screen can be turned on again by pressing on

any part of it. After 15 seconds the display will turn

off again.

IMPORTANT:

if the screen seems unresponsive

to touch, wait about three seconds and try again. It

may be that the screen is touched precisely during

the measurement of an I-V curve when the device

is unresponsive.
