Cautionary Suggestions

Disconnect all power before installation or service.

Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel.

local , state, and national electrical codes and requirements.

This device is not intended for use in close proximity to the human body.
Antennas should be at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from the operator.

Step 2: Physically mount the 4G Modem
Step 3: Prepare the 4G Modem Cable Access Hole
•
Punch a
¾
” knockout on the top or the side of the enclosure
for the power and Ethernet cables to the modem.
•
Insert a
¾
” knockout bushing into the hole to protect the
wires.
Step 5: Connect the Antennas On Ports 1 and 3 (the outside ports)
Step 6: Connect the Ethernet Cable from the Modem to the “Intranet” Ethernet
port on the Energy manager
Step 7: Connect the Power Cable to the Modem and Plug the Power Supply
into a Power Receptacle Outlet

Mount the modem on
the top or on the side of
the enclosure, or other
location so that the
modem can receive a
strong cellular signal. Use
self tapping screws to
mount it in place.
•
Do NOT mount the
modem inside the
enclosure as the
modem will not receive
the cellular signal.
Connect the
RF antennas
Connect the power
cable from the
power adapter
Connect the Ethernet cable
from the Intranet port on the
Energy Manager
Step 4: SIM card - Save the credit card sized plastic card
•
The credit card sized plastic card that came with your
device has the SIM Card number located on It and it has
a small punch-out card in the middle. This punch-out is
the actual SIM card. The SIM card has already been
removed and installed into the modem. Save the credit
card sized plastic card for future use and keep it stored in
the plastic sleeve inside the door of the enclosure.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Problem
Solution
Network LED
is either
flashing yellow
or solid red
This means that there is a problem with the cellular
network. Check the network coverage and
accordingly, choose the appropriate location for the
installation. (For details on LED Operation, refer to the
GX Series User Guide)
Step 8: Verify that the 4G modem is on, and has a connection
On the front of the modem, LEDs for “network”, “signal”, and “power”
should be on and green. It will take a few minutes before the modem
is done booting. If there are connectivity issues, the “network” and
“signal” LEDs will be red.
