Thank you for purchasing a helmet from engelbert strauss. Safety helmets are part of personal
protective equipment and contribute to preventing head injuries or at least reducing their severi-
ty. Please take time to study the following instructions and to adjust your helmet. This is for your
own safety and to maximise wearing comfort.
The protection classes in accordance with EN 1077
Class A and Class B helmets are for alpine skiers, snowboarders and similar groups. Class B
helmets provide more ventilation and improve hearing, but they protect a smaller area of the head
and provide a lower level of penetration resistance. You will find the protection class printed on
the label inside the helmet.
A: HELMET ADJUSTMENT
1. Selecting the correct helmet size
A helmet can only protect you when it is worn properly. Measure your head circumference. Al-
ways put the helmet on with the size adjustment at the back. The helmet must feel safe and
comfortable on your head. To improve the fit even more, use the built-in size adjustment system.
Providing it is worn properly, this helmet has been designed to stay on your head in the event of
an accident.
2. Adjusting the size adjustment system
A good fit is a prerequisite for the best possible protection. The head ring is adapted to the size
of your head using the rotary closure in the neck area. Turning anti-clockwise opens or loosens
the head ring. Turning clockwise tightens the head ring continually (Fig. 1). In addition, the neck
support (Fig. 2) can be adjusted in terms of height and the position of the head strap (Fig. 3) can
be adjusted.
3. The correct helmet position
traight and protects your forehead but does not impair your vision. Your helmet should also not
slide backwards when it sits on your head (Fig. 4).
4. Close chin strap
Your helmet has a strap adjustment system. Clip the closure onto the distributor ring of the strap.
Tension the chain strap by pulling the free end of the right-hand distributor. Swing the distributor
up to loosen. Pull the puller straight away from the head to open the strap (Fig. 5).
5. Strap adjustment
After you have adjusted the helmet to the size of your head, put the helmet on in the right po-
sition (Fig. 4) and close the chin strap (Fig. 5). At the point where they enter the distributor, the
straps must be tight and hang at the same length below your ears. Check the strap tension and
adjust any straps which are too tight or too loose as follows: Your helmet has a convenient fixed
strap (straps under the ears are sewn to the distributor), you do not need to do any side-to-side
adjustment.
6. Check the fit and strap attachment
Before you use the helmet, check whether it fits properly, the straps have been adjusted correctly
and the chin strap is tight enough.
