4. OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
(CONTINUED)
4.6.2 Saddle position
The saddle is correctly positioned if you can fully extend your leg when your heel is on the pedal at its lowest position; if you can only
touch the pedal with your toes or your leg is slightly bent, the height of the saddle post should be adjusted to avoid fatigue or injury.
The saddle post has a MAX position marking, which is the safety height line that cannot be exposed. Improper use can cause serious
injury.
Saddle angle:
To avoid leaning forward when riding, the front end of the saddle should be tilted upward. The front and rear position
can be appropriately adjusted based on individual height.
Minimum height of the saddle:
Move the quick release handle to the OPEN position, then put the saddle post to the lowest
position. When the saddle post can no longer enter the saddle tube of the frame, it is at the minimum height of the seat.
Maximum height of the saddle:
Move the quick release handle to the OPEN position, then lift the saddle post to the top, ensuring
the safety line is not exposed. This is the maximum height of the saddle.
Measuring method:
Place the bike perpendicular to the ground. The distance from the highest part of the curved surface of the
saddle vertical to the ground is the height of the saddle.
4.7 Braking system
The braking system is a necessary component of every bike and the key to road safety; before riding, you must understand your
braking system, and properly carry out inspection and adjustment work. It is a common misconception that if you brake hard, the
bike will stop almost right away, but this is not the case. Upon hard braking, when the wheels are suddenly jammed by the brake
rubber, the bike will skid, and it not only is dangerous but the braking distance will be lengthened. Therefore, the braking system
should be thought of only as a means to adjust the speed of the bike. The braking system typically includes a brake lever, brake (disc
brake, V brake, and many other types of brakes) and brake cable. The structure of the brake lever is as shown in this manual. The left
brake lever controls the rear brake and the right brake lever controls the front brake. The effective stroke of the brake cable is about
a half of the distance between the brake lever and the grip.
