5. Remove either left or right knockout in inner bottom to route
gas line.
6. Carefully set fireplace on hearth base. Be careful not to scratch
or damage hearth base or laminate trim.
7. Attach flexible gas line to fireplace gas regulator. See “Gas
Supply,” page 9.
8. See mantel instruction for installation of mantel.
9. If optional laminate trim is to be used, install now.
10. Position flange on inside mounting flange facing the front of
the heater with the notches on the inside mounting flange
facing the rear of the heater. You can now adjust inside
mounting flange on outer casing top to back side of mantel.
Install (4) screws when correctly located.
11. Center cabinet mantel on hearth base (see Figure 9). Make
sure mantel is flush against wall.
12. Secure fireplace to hearth or floor. Open lower louver. Locate
screw holes in bottom of base. Tighten wood screws through
these holes and into hearth or floor.
13. Check all gas connections for leaks. See “Gas Supply.”
Built-In Fireplace Installation
Built-in installation of this fireplace involves installing fireplace
into a framed-in enclosure. This makes the front of fireplace flush
with wall. If installing a mantel above the fireplace, you must
follow the clearances shown in Figure 5 page 10. Follow the
instructions below to install the fireplace in this manner.
Frame in rough opening. Use dimensions shown in Figure 10 for
the rough opening. Be sure to provide for gas line and electrical
power for EFB-2 blower assembly.

After completing wall, attach flexible gas line to gas supply. Slide
the firebox into place in the wall and route flexible gas line through
side entry and attach to the regulator. The log set/plate assembly
can be removed to facilitate gas line attachment and accessory
blower installation. Secure firebox in place against the wall by
attaching the screws at the bottom to the floor.
If installing in a corner, use dimensions shown in Figure 11 for the
rough opening. The height is 30 3/4" which is the same as the wall
opening, above.
Framing and Finishing
1. Choose unit location.
2. Place unit into position and secure to floor with 1-1/2" screws,
or nails. The holes to secure the unit to the floor are located just
behind the door assembly on the left and right hand side of the
unit.
3. Frame in fireplace with a header across the top. It is important
to allow for finished face when setting the depth of the frame.
4. Attach fireplace to frame using adjustable frame. Preset depth
to suit facing material (adjustable to 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" depths).
5. Use (8) 1/2" hex-head screws supplied in hardware package,
to screw through slotted holes in drywall strip and then screw
