Propane gas odour
Warning
Artificial odorants are added to liquefied propane gas and natural gas so that users notice gas leaks from the odour released. In
the event of a gas leak, you will normally be able to smell it. Because propane (as liquefied petroleum gas) is heavier than air, any
gas present can be smelled closer to the ground or floor.
TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ANY TIME YOU SMELL GAS!!
•
Do not do anything that could ignite the gas. Do not touch any electric switches. Do not unplug any power or extension
cables. Do not light matches or use anything that will cause a spark.
Do not use your mobile telephone.
•
Ensure that all persons promptly leave the building and remove themselves from the immediate area.
•
Propane (liquefied petroleum gas) is heavier than air and can sink to low levels. If you suspect a propane leak, keep away from
low areas.
•
Use your neighbour's telephone to call your fuel supplier and fire services. Do not go back into the building or back to the
area.
•
Remain outside the building and away from the danger area until it has been declared safe by fire services and your fuel
supplier.
•
Afterwards, have a fuel gas service technician and fire services perform a check of the leaked gas. Make sure that the building
and the area have been ventilated before returning. All leaks must be repaired by properly trained service technicians, who
will then test for further leaks and turn the appliance back on for you.
Operating for first time
Check to make sure that an AAA battery has been placed in the ignition chamber
and that it is charged. Make sure that the anode (+)
is directed outward.
The injector attached to this device is not intended for removal.
The injector should be removed only by the manufacturer.
Do not connect the gas cylinder directly to the device without the regulator.
The flexible hose must conform to standard EN16436: 2014.
The regulator must conform to standard EN16129: 2013. The regulator outlet pressure
must conform with the values on the identification plate.
If the regulator must be replaced, the replacement must conform to national
specifications:
•
- Use a 30-mbar regulator for butane/propane under the category I3B/P(30).
•
- Use a 30-mbar regulator for butane under the category I3 + (28-30/37).
•
- Use a 37-mbar regulator for propane under the category I3 + (28-30/37).
•
- Use a 50-mbar regulator for butane/propane under the category I3B / P (50).
To turn on the gas heater:
1. Turn the valve on the gas cylinder all the way open.
2. Press the regulator dial and turn it to the "Pilot" position (Ignition).
3. Press the igniter button several times to ignite the burner.
Hold for 5 seconds. Release after
the
burner has ignited.
4. Turn the dial to the desired temperature position.
•
For a low flame, turn the dial to "LOW".
See figure
•
For a high flame, turn the dial to "HIGH".
