3 Description of the status indicator for switches with edge illumination

If a switch with edge illumination is used, the configuration connector “Side LED” can be
connected for the edge illumination.

The side LEDs of the switch are then illuminated when the water level is adequate (hight of
TLS -dry running protection sensor) and switched off when the water level is inadequate.

4 Description of the run-time limiter

This function is also named OFF TIMER. The automatic switch-off is a protective function
against unsupervised operation of the Whirlpool.

When the status indicator displays the “pool ready” message and the controller registers the
first activation of the switch,, the 20 minute run-time limiter is activated. In this time frame,
all Whirlpool functions can be used as desired. Regardless of when a function is activated,
the units will be switched off upon reaching the run-time limit. If all functions are switched
off during this time, the run-time limit is also reset. When the switch is activated anew, the
time is restarted. The unit can be switched on again immediately after stopping
automatically. With the first activation of the switch, the the run-time limits is started anew.
Automatic functions such as drying and disinfection (according to specification) are not
included by the run-time limiter.

5 Dry-running protection system TLS

The system consists of a capacitative proximity switch (dry-running protection sensor TLS),
with a maximum switching distance of 20 mm (wall thickness of the tub). The TLS is affixed
to the outside of the tub with a suitable glue, for example, silicon.

The TLS must be connected, as the Whirlpool may not be operated without water.
Otherwise, the pump shaft seal may be damaged or the lamp may dis-form the surface of
the tub due to insufficient cooling.

The switch status of the TLS is indicated directly at the TLS and in the controller by a LED. If
no water is in the tub, the LED (D8) in the controller will be illuminated. The LED at the dry-
running protection system works inversely. When the water is not at the required level, the
units will stop working automatically in 5 seconds or, if applicable, can no longer be switched
on. In the case of no TLS being fitted, the controller will function as if the tub is filled with
water. The LED (D8) in the controller will not be illuminated.
