EMC DL3D 1500 and DL3D 3000 Administrator’s Guide

Configuring and Managing Disk Backup

5. Right-click the share and select Properties.

6. Select Share Permissions.

7. Select Add/Remove Share users/groups. You can enter a

user/group and then click OK.

8. Set permissions for each user.

9. Click Apply/OK.

Adding NAS shares

To add NAS shares:

1. To access the NAS page, on the Disk Backup Configuration

page, click NAS.

2. Click Add to add a NAS share.

Note:

edit

The Add NAS Share page appears.

3. Type the NAS share information as desired (

Table 8

provides a

description of the fields).

Note:

If you are editing a share, you can edit only the

Description

and

Enforce read-only access to this share

options. You can also change

the de-duplication policy from immediate to scheduled and vice versa, or
change the window for scheduled de-duplication.

4. Select Enable De-Duplication to enable de-duplication for this

NAS share. By default, de-duplication is not enabled. Once the
NAS share has been created, de-duplication cannot be enabled or
disabled for it.

5. If scheduled de-duplication is desired, select Enable Backup

Window

and specify the backup window. De-duplication of that

data will not occur during this time duration each day. Only one
backup window may be set per share. By default, selecting
Enable De-duplication

enables immediate de-duplication for the

NAS share.

a. From the list box, select the start time for the backup window.

b. From the list box, select the end time for the backup window.
