Narrow Hem 3
The upper and lower looper threads
should lock together on the rolled fabric
edge. Adjust the same as 3 thread overlock.
See pages 53-56.
Rolled Hem 3
The upper and lower looper threads
should lock together with the needle thread
on the underside of the rolled fabric
edge. If upper looper thread is not
rolling to the underside, loosen upper
looper thread tension (yellow) and tighten
lower looper thread tension (green).
Rolled Hem 2
The lower looper thread encases the
rolled fabric edge and locks together with
the needle thread on the fabric
underside. If lower looper thread does
not roll the fabric loosen lower looper
thread tension (green).
2 Thread Overcast
Balanced Tension
The needle thread should resemble a straight
stitch on the topside
of the fabric. It will lock
with the lower looper thread on the fabric edge.
The needle thread should lie flat in a V-shape
on the fabric underside
.
The lower looper thread should lie flat on the
topside of the fabric and lock with the needle
thread
on the fabric edge.
Needle thread is too loose.
If the needle thread is pulled up over the fabric
edge to the topside of the fabric, decrease the
lower looper thread tension (green) and/or
increase the needle thread tension (blue or red).
Lower looper thread is too loose.
If the lower looper thread is pulled down under
the fabric edge to the underside of the fabric,
increase the lower looper thread tension (green)
and/or decrease the needle thread tension
(blue or red).
