PSI 9000 2U Series
3.3.5 Changing the operating mode
In general, the manual operation of a PSI 9000 2U distinguishes between two operating modes which are tied to
set value input using the rotary knobs or ten-key pad. This assignment must be changed if one of the three set
values is to be adjusted which is currently not available.
►
How to change the operating mode:
1.
On the main screen tap the touch area
2.
Now one of the two fields can be selected:
Setting voltage and current
Setting voltage and power
Depending on the selection the right rotary knob will be assigned different setting values, the left knob is always
assigned to the voltage.
In order to avoid constant changing of the assignments it is possible, e.g with selection U/I being
active, to change the other value P by direct input. See section 3.3.6.
The actual operating mode, while the DC output is switched on, solely depends only on the set values. For more
3.3.6 Manual adjustment of set values
The set values for voltage, current and power are the fundamental operating possibilities of a power supply and
hence the two rotary knobs on the front of the device are usually assigned two of the three values in manual op-
eration. Default assignment is voltage and current.
The set values can be entered manually in two ways: via rotary knob or direct input.
Entering a value changes it at any time, whether the input is switched on or off.
When adjusting the set values, upper or lower limits may come into effect. See section „3.3.4.
. Once a limit is reached, the display will show a note like “Limit: U-
max” etc. for 1.5 seconds next to the adjusted value.
Adjusting the internal resistance in R mode is a special case. It is not displayed in main screen,
even when activated, but can be adjusted in SETTINGS while the DC output is switched off.

How to adjust values U, I or P with the rotary knobs
1.
First check whether the value to be changed is assigned to one of the rotary knobs. The main
screen displays the assignment:
2.
If, as shown in the example, the assignment is voltage (U) left and the current (I) right, and it
is required to the power, then the assignments can be changed by tapping this touch area. A
set of selection fields then appears.
3.
After successful selection, the desired value can be set within the defined limits.
Selecting a
digit is done by pushing the rotary knob which shifts the cursor clockwise (digit will be under-
lined):
