Procedure:
1. Insert the terminal connector into the COM5 port.
2. Look up “Comm.port 5” in the serial communication test
submenu or enter code 5 and press O

Testing procedure:
1. Microprocessor sends one byte through its serial output
to the PC connector.
2. The sent byte value is received back through the terminal
adapter.
3. The test summary is both displayed and printed.
5.10.4.4 Break signal test 5.10.4.4 Break signal test
The break signal test allows the diagnostics of input break
circuit for the receiving of the serial data via the 9-pin CANON
male connector. Test can be run with the use of the terminal
adapter only. The terminal adapter is described in chapter
5.10.4.1.
Procedure:
1. Insert the terminal connector into the PC connector on
the ECR.
2. Look up “Break signal test” in the serial communication
test submenu or enter code 6 and press O

Testing procedure:
1. The microprocessor sends five break signals through its
serial output to the PC connector.
2. The input break circuit receives the sent signals via the
terminal connector.
3. Test is evaluated by displaying and printing out a short
test summary.

Procedure:
Look up “Other tests” in the tests submenu using arrows or
enter code 965 and press

5.10.5.1 Real-time circuit test 5.10.5.1 Real-time circuit test
The RTC test diagnoses the functionality of the real-time cir-
cuit.
Procedure:
Look up “Real time circuit” in the other tests submenu or en-
ter code 1 and press

Testing procedure:
1. Two bytes are written into the checking memory of the
real-time circuit and they are instantly read form that
memory. If the readings confirm the sent byte values the
circuit is functional.
2. During the test “RTC test” is displayed on the display.
3. A short test summary is printed out after the test.
