2.3.3 Communication circuits 2.3.3 Communication circuits
The Euro-2500TX ECR is by default equipped with the communication circuits for the PC and bar-code scanner and further
two RS232 channels e. g. for the electronic scales and EFT terminal.
The PC communication is available through the RS232 or the RS422 serial interface. The interface selection is carried out by
the placement of the JP4 jumper that controlls for which of the serial interfaces the data input into the microcontroller would
be provided. The RS232 serial interface is selected by default. The ECR number is the vital parameter for the ECR-PC commu-
nication (see flag programming in the programming manual). ECR-PC communication is available in every ECR mode if the
ECR doesn’t carry out any other functions (e. g. an unfinished sale) For proper communication with any external device it is
necessary to set the communication parameters equally on both sides.
Adjustable transfer parameters for both devices are defined as follows:
• PC communication speed programmable; 9,600 or 38,400 Bd
• scanner communication speed programmable; from 1,200 to 19,200 Bd
• number of data bits
8
• parity none
• stop bits 1
• scanner terminal character programmable; CR, LF or CR + LF
Parameters for the communication with electronic scales:
• communication speed 9,600 Bd
• number of data bits 8
• parity none
• stop bits 1
• communication protocol Euro-scales, MORCAN and MACCA-K scales
