Use RCA phono plugs and/or loudspeaker cable to connect the subwoofer to a hi-fi system or home cinema set. The
following options will give an idea of different applications. Careful consideration should be given to the user’s manuals
of the AV amplifier and the loudspeakers used in the set-up.
Digital home cinema set
Standard connection (LINE LEVEL)
On many surround amplifiers you will find a specific output (BASS / SUB OUT / LFE) for the connection of an active
subwoofer. This mono signal is connected to the line input (LINE LEVEL IN) of the subwoofer. Since, in this configura-
tion, the subwoofer only receives bass signals from the system, the crossover frequency at the subwoofer should be
set at the maximum value (180 Hz).
Sometimes sound quality demands may not be handled adequately by an AV receiver’s bass management software. If
this is the case then the following options may be used as an alternative.
