6.2 Daily servicing of splitting saw
In order to meet the hygiene requirements, the
splitting saw must be serviced after each shift.
6.2.1 Lubrication
After cleaning, apply a little EFA special oil (acid-free
product) to the saw band and lubricate the guide
mechanism with EFA grease.
6.2.2 Guide mechanism
The guide mechanism must be serviced with special
care. If there are any signs of wear, immediately
adjust it or replace it, if necessary.
Check the guide mechanism and the spring for free
movement and lubricate it.
6.2.3 Saw band
Regularly check the saw band; if worn, replace it.
6.2.4 Motor
Regularly unblock the condensate drain holes at the
bottom of the motor, using a blunt non-metal tool.
If condensate collects inside the machine, the motor
might fail (corrosion of winding), causing high repair
costs.
6.3 Overhaul service
(to be carried out every 50
operating hours)
6.3.1 Splitting saw
Check ball bearings of the guide wheels and
lubricate, if necessary.
6.3.2 Guide mechanism
Apply a little lubricant to the two guides.
6.3.3 Torque wrench
Over the weekend, place the torque wrench in an oil
bath. Do not lubricate.
6.3.4 Gear system
The gear is equipped with permanent lubrication.
The lubrication must however be renewed after
repairs.

information on our services.
Please note that electric machines must be
repaired by qualified electricians as improper
repairs might lead to serious injury to the
operator.
On request, we provide spare parts lists for
repair shops with specialist technicians.
After completion of the repair work, the gear
system must be lubricated again for life!
7. Transport and storage
The splitting saw must be stored in a dry, well-
ventilated room.
For transport, clean the machine as described in
chapter 6.1.2 "Cleaning of splitting saw" (page 11),
and dry it thoroughly.
During transport, protect the splitting saw against
damage from impacts, etc.
8. Return of decommissioned
equipment
For proper disposal, return your equipment to
Schmid & Wezel.
