5.2
Maintenance plan
The plan shown in
details the routine maintenance operations necessary to maintain E-LAB 2 pumps in normal
use. Instructions for each operation are given in the section shown.
More frequent maintenance may be required if the pump is used to pump corrosive or abrasive gases and vapours,
such as solvents, organic substances and acids. In these circumstances, Edwards recommends replacing the pump
seals every year. Refer to
for details of available spares. If necessary, adjust the maintenance plan
according to experience.
When maintaining the E-LAB 2, use Edwards spares and maintenance kits; these contain all of the components
necessary to complete maintenance operations successfully. The Item Numbers of the spares and kits are given in
.
5.3
Check the liquid level in the inlet catchpot
Look at the level of fluid in the inlet catchpot (
, item 4). If the level is close to or above the MAX level mark:
1. Place a suitable container under the drain plug (
, item 23).
2. Remove the drain plug and allow the fluid to drain out of the inlet catchpot.
3. Refit the drain plug to the inlet catchpot.
